ABOUT
Project for AI's first ever DVD authoring class. It's a redesign of "Downtown 81" with Jean-Michel Basquiat. I wanted to make something that more reflects the feeling I have when watching the film - a feeling of both nostalgia and lost while at the same time a premonition of what was/is to come. I used the painting "Famous Negro Athletes" as the main aesthetic base, and was careful to only draw from work Basquiat produced prior to '82.
